Temple priest for 'molesting' women in Jagatsinghpur
Bhubaneswar: A priest of Jagatsinghpur's famous Ma Sarla temple has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman on the pretext of performing a ritual.
The accused has been identified as Samirandra Raul of Develi village under Tirtol police limits of Jagatsinghpur.
According to the report, the woman in question visited the temple with her husband and performed puja when Rahul took their mobile number and called her regularly.
On Wednesday, he asked Pratima to perform a special pooja and reached her home around 8 pm.
Rahul asked the family members to leave the house and instructed Pratima to sit in meditation with him.
Later, when Pratima screamed for help, he started abusing her. When family members entered the room, she narrated her ordeal after which a police complaint was registered.
