Australia, Sri Lanka send in condolences over the tragic accident
Foreign Ministers of Australia and Sri Lanka on Saturday condoled the loss of lives in the Odisha triple train mishap in Balasore that claimed 238 people and injured over 900.
Australia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Penny Wong said that her thoughts are with the people who have been injured and with the emergency personnel who are working to assist them.
Penny Wong tweeted, "We send our deepest sympathies following the devastating train crash in India's eastern Odisha state. Our thoughts are also with the many injured, and with the emergency personnel working to assist them."
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry said that he is "deeply saddened" to learn about the train accident in Odisha. He wished for a speedy recovery for all those affected in the accident.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to visit accident site
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit the train accident site in Balasore in neighbouring Odisha on Saturday, a senior official said.
Banerjee, the official said, had a conversation with her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik over the telephone in connection with the accident on Friday night.

Deputy Commissioner of Police in Cuttack, Pinak Mishra said on Saturday that all security precautions to admit the injured were put in place following the Coromandel Express derailment on Friday in Odisha's Balasore.
Speaking to ANI about the incident, the Cuttack DCP stated that the victims of the Balasore train collision could be shifted to the medical college and hospital in Cuttack.
He added that the entire team of Cuttack was ready and had taken prior security measures to admit the injured.

In a tragic accident, at least 50 people died and several have been injured after Coromandel Express derailed and hit another express train in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday evening. The accident took place around 7.20 pm near Bahanaga Bazar station when the train was on the way to Chennai Central Station from Shalimar Station near Kolkata.

‘Thought we would die..’: Passenger shares ordeal
Gobinda Mondal, one of the passengers who boarded the train in Bengal, got out of a wrecked coach through a broken window.
“I had given up all hopes. I thought we would die. I was among some passengers who managed to leave our coach through a broken window. We were taken to a dispensary for first aid. We are out of danger but I saw some of the injured people. One of them was complaining of pain in the chest,” Mondal told News 18 Bangla news channel over phone.
