Admin sealed Mundali toll gate in Cuttack after attack on Chhattisgarh tourists

The administration on Thursday took action and sealed the toll gate after several employees of a toll gate near Mundali in Cuttack district allegedly assaulted several tourists from Chhattisgarh.

A team of officials visited the toll gate and sealed it till further orders. At this time, four accused tourists were beaten up with sticks and wooden planks and the police were prosecuted.

On the other hand, the administration arranged alternative transport facilities and sent the tourists back to their states. The district administration has also promised to compensate for the damage caused by the tourists.

The report said that this is not the first incident at the toll gate. In the past, there have been many incidents of violence and harassment from toll gates.

The disturbing sight of the attacked tourist went viral recently. The incident has shocked many as questions have been raised about the safety and security of tourists coming to the state from other states and countries.

According to reports, many tourists from Chhattisgarh went to Nandankanan Zoo near Bhubaneswar. After their visit, the tourists stopped at the toll plaza while returning home in two buses.

Instead of the regular toll of Rs 200, the toll officials demanded Rs 1,000 to cross the two bus toll gates which were disputed. A total of 11 tourists and three toll gate staff were reportedly injured in the clash.
Some women and children were also injured in the attack.
