In a proud moment for every Indian, the trailer of filmmaker Jitendra Mishra's documentary 'Y64' was screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

Y64, meaning 64 Yoginis, represents the significance of the Ranipur Jarial in Bolangi and the 64 Yoginis Temple in Bhubaneswar. The story plot of 'Y64' focuses on the importance, reputation and history of 64 Yogini.
Odia filmmaker Mishra was seen donning Sambalwari handlooms on the red carpet during the 10-day festival, which began on May 16 and will continue till May 27.

Apart from presenting his filmmaking skills to the world, Mishra also promoted Odisha's civilization and culture at international events.

Hailing from Titlegarh in Bolangi, Mishra started his career as a producer and director of children's films. Mishra rose to fame after his work in the National Award-winning film Mea Am Kalam.


“Trailers and posters of two films directly related to Odisha were launched at the Government of India pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival. "We have made efforts to promote our language, art, culture and cinema here," said Mishra.
Meanwhile, his elder brother Umakant Mishra said, “He was interested in art from childhood and was always fascinated by it. He was acting in various plays and was waiting for any such opportunities. "
