The teachers under the banner of the United Primary Teachers' Union protested again on Wednesday in front of the Odisha Assembly demanding the fulfillment of their various demands.
According to sources, the teachers have decided to continue their protest indefinitely, until their demands include grade pay of Rs 2,800, six nominal increments and six-year contractual appointment in the regular service period. Didn't meet
The teachers union has also threatened if their demands are not met soon. Sources said that the association has been protesting over their demands for the last few years.
“We have been protesting for the past years. "We want to request Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and School and Education Minister Sudam Marndi to fulfill our demands," said Malay Kumar Jena, coordinator of the association.
“We have been protesting since 2017. The then minister Badri Narayan Patra also gave us a written assurance that our demand for salary of Rs.2800 was being considered. But, our demands have not been fulfilled yet We will continue our protest until our demands are met," said opposition teacher Sunil Kumar Pradhan.
