"Apocalyptic": Video "capture" control over Nova Scotia, Canada
The blaze, described by officials as 'out of control', has destroyed at least 200 buildings and is billowing smoke.
Wildfires raging in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia have destroyed many homes and forced more than 16,000 Canadians to evacuate their homes. As of Monday, about 16,400 people have been forced to leave their homes near Halifax, Nova Scotia's largest city, the BBC reported. Officials declared a local emergency in Halifax late Sunday night following the fire.
The fire, which has spread over 25,000 acres, has destroyed at least 200 buildings and is billowing smoke in the area, according to CNN. More than 200 personnel from agencies across the province have been dispatched to fight the blaze. Fortunately, there were no reports of deaths or injuries.
Many residents posted videos of the wildfire on social media, which they described as 'aggressive' and 'apocalyptic'.
