Bhubaneswar man shocked his life with Rs 7.9 crore electricity bill

But what if you get a monthly electricity bill of Rs 7 crore? It is clear that any common man will get the shock of his life on such an electricity bill.
A similar incident happened with Durga Prasad Patnaik of Bhubaneswar. He was shocked after receiving an electricity bill of Rs 7.90 crore.
Patnaik lives in a rented house in Niladri Bihar in Smart City He alleged that after the installation of the smart meter in March, he received the electricity bill.
According to Patnaik, he received Rs 2,400 in March, Rs 6,000 in April and over Rs 7 crore for May.
"I was getting electricity bills between Rs 700 and Rs 1,500. After installation of the smart meter, I paid a bill of Rs 6,000 in April. I paid online and thought it was electricity bill and installation but later, I was surprised when I got a bill of around Rs 7 crore for the month of May. Patnaik said.
Patnaik further informed that he has informed TPCODL authorities through a tweet. So far he has not received any response.
Patnaik said, "I am afraid that if the power supply goes off in this scorching heat. I have lodged a complaint and have not received any information from the concerned authorities so far."
Officials of the concerned power distribution company could not be contacted at this time.
