Balasore: A young passed on and in excess of 50 monkeys were killed in isolated lightning strikes in Odisha's Balasore locale on Monday night.



The departed youth has been recognized as Madhu Dadai, an occupant of Devog town of Baliapal block in Odisha's Balasore region.


As per reports, Madhu was getting back on his bike on Monday night when he was trapped in an unexpected thundershower and lightning. He was struck by lightning while he was crossing a field and tumbled to the ground. A seriously harmed Madhu lay there oblivious till his relatives saved him and surged him to the Baliapal people group wellbeing focus, where the specialists proclaimed him 'brought dead'.


In the mean time, no less than 50 monkeys, who had taken cover on a tree to get away from an unexpected thundershower in Baliapal town under Godsahi block of Jaleswar in Balasore region, were killed in a lightning strike on Monday night.


The grievous occurrence happened when the monkeys were roosting on a 150-year-old tamarind tree in the patio of one Pratap Majhi at night, townspeople said. Townspeople spotted bodies of no less than 50 monkeys lying beneath the tree after the thundershower and lightning halted.
